spring time glam adored by alex

Outfit one: Equipment blouse // J.Crew denim // Fit In Clouds flats // Rebecca Minkoff bag // Gorjana ring // Tory Burch earrings

Outfit two: Calypso St. Barth maxi dress // Fit In Clouds flats // Rachel Zoe hat // Botkier clutch // Ray Ban aviators // Kate Spade earrings

Two outfits, two pairs of Fit In Clouds flats. Of course spring harkens warmer temps and the ability to ditch the layers and dress with ease and comfort, but truly my favorite thing is the return of color! Not only do Fit in Clouds flats make it simple for me to run errands and lunch with friends without the worry of sore feet, but they also are easily paired with neutrals and pops of color whatever the occasion! xx

Today’s post comes from Alex Carreno of one of our new favorite fashion and lifestyle blogs. According to Alex, “Adored by Alex has been a way for me to catalogue my inspirations and life experiences all in the hopes of sharing and inspiring others along the way.” We love her adorable quatrefoil blog header, her upbeat color scheme, and her cute collages.

Speaking of adoring things- we also adore Always Maylee, the blog of a stylish Bostonian named Yi-chia. We love her style, especially this royal blue sweater paired with a black and white patterned dress (disguised as a skirt) and black tights. As Yi-chia points out, “wearing dresses as skirts…essentially doubles your collection of skirts.”

Brit & Co never ceases to impress us with their DIY home and style projects. This week: how to create chic and colorful cork coasters. We’re obsessed with the turquoise and purple chevron set.

We loved stumbling upon a blog post called Blush & Gold on Brunch at Saks- especially after we just created a set called Usher in Spring with Pink & Gold over on Polyvore! We want that sunburst mirror, the gold votives, and the Mary McDonald pink and gold lamp.

We adore the one pieces that Emily of Dear Serendipity highlighted recently. Is it bathing suit weather yet?! Because we want to pop on that chevron suit by Zinke and jump into the water!

And speaking of transitioning to warmer weather…sheer blouses are the perfect winter to spring top and luckily, Michelle of Fierce & Fashionable has a few suggestions for cute styles, like an adorable colorblocked one from Forever 21.

When we saw the tongue-in-cheek title “Everything’s All White” on Shut Up I Love That Shirt on You (yes, that’s the name of the blog!), we had to take a look. Not surprisingly, we love Taylor’s white picks, like that Tibi shift dress and the Alexander McQueen tote in Bleached White.

We’re big fans of Adored by Alex, a fun blog we stumbled upon. Our pick of the week: a post on adorable clutches. We especially love the peach colored Clare Vivier and the beaded Juicy Couture clutch in Gold/Angel.

Fit In Clouds - Spring Fever

Another bout of cold weather really has me wishing for warmer temperatures, sunny days, and umbrella drinks {think #ihatewinter}, but until then dressing up in bright colors and floral prints will bring me out of these winter blues. I can easily transition this outfit from desk to date night with these Fit in Clouds flats!

In preparation for spring, consider cleaning out your closet. Here’s a fun infographic that will help you decide what to keep and what to donate.

Peplum- the Greek word for tunic- is “a short overskirt that is usually attached to a fitted jacket, blouse or dress” (thank you, Wikipedia!). Tell us- are you a peplum fan? Penelope of Penelope’s Oasis is!

It may be March but we’re still loving the February 2012 Stradivarius  Lookbook on Be Voguish.

We’ve been obsessing over the coming of spring for months now, but since it looks like it’s still a ways off, here’s several DIY projects to cure the winter boredom blues! We have our eye on those rope and rhinestone earrings.

Every Friday, we feature a roundup of interesting articles, posts, DIY tutorials, and more from across the web. This week we’re covering everything from winter trends (like faux fur vests) to spring trends (like trendy nail polish colors) and everything in between.

Want to rock the faux fur vest trend? Sara of High Fashion 4 Less shows you how to style it.

Over at Leopard and Lime, Alyssa shows off her favorite spring purse styles. We want that pink iPhone 5 Clutch Case by Michael Kors too!

As College Candy says, “Sometimes, your day just sucks.” Here’s how to turn around a bad day. Window shopping? Fro-yo? Sweat session? Yes please!

Did you get to attend any New York Fashion Week shows or did you just dream of them from the comfort of your home? Either way, Katie of Coco and Tea breaks down the best looks at the Alice + Olivia New York Fashion Week show.

Obviously we live in Fit in Clouds, but every girl has to mix it up, right? We’re loving the Tory Burch slip-on sneakers that Sarah of Chevron and Stripes highlights in her Spring Sneaks post.

Megan of Professiongal rocks her girlfriend blazer in her new blog series Office Time to Overtime. Of course, we mostly love the part where she mentions that she loves wearing flats!

When Nikki of Cupcakes for Breakfast posted Five Things, we couldn’t decide which one was our favorite: the cropped gold leather jacket, the leather scallop edge bag, black wedges, hot chip necklace, or the Paris coffee table book.

Kate of DomestiKated knows the way to our hearts is with pearl details like big pearl earrings and a beaded pearl sweater.

And last by not least, College Gloss has us gearing up for spring (still) with 5 trendy nail polish shades for spring.
